Francis Boott ("merchant"), married Mary Tunaley All Saints, Derby, 25th July, 1805.

Followed by emigration to America where Francis set up the Boston trading partnership Boott and Farrow.

Frances Boott

(This Frances not to be confused with another Frances, Frances Love Boott (1786-1873) (daughter of Kirk Boott Snr.), who married William Wells 3 May 1808, Boston, MA).

b. 11 November 1809, Boston, Massachusetts.

 

m. Henry Greenough, 18 March 1837, Boston, MA.

 

Henry: Painter and Boston Architect, b. 5 October 1807, Boston, MA.,

studied painting in Florence in his twenties, brother of the

renowned American sculptor Horatio Greenough (click here)

Henry and Frances spent five years on a grand tour of Europe,

1845-1850.

Henry son of David Greenough (1774-1836), a Boston builder

and real estate developer.

and Elizabeth Bender Greenough (1776-1866)

(Elizabeth Bender m. David Greenough Oct 21st, 1799).

 

Henry died October 31st., 1883 Cambridge, MA.

Prior to Henry's death, Frances completed the book "Annals of Brookdale, a New England Village", fiction based on nineteenth century life in New England.

m. Arthur Welland Blake,

25 April 1878, Cambridge, MA.

Arthur became owner of Tappan House and the Blake estate of

Brookline, MA. after his father, the wealthy merchant,

George Baty Blake died 1875.

Arthur d. 28 Feb., 1893, Brookline, MA., leaving the estate to wife

Frances who lived on for a further 46 years.

(According to records, at the time of his death Arthur was one of the

wealthiest people in Brookline).

Frances d. 28 July, 1939, aged 92 years, Brookline, MA.

much of the Blake estate later sold off to Trust.

Mary marriage (2) to Jeremiah Lee, Brattleboro, Vermont, 1825. Jeremiah, a merchant and at a later stage U.S. Consul in the Mediterranean, was the grandson of Colonel Jeremiah Lee, a person influential in the American War of Independence. Following marriage, Mary and "Jerry" set up residence in Mt. Vernon St., Boston, close to the Port of Boston. For further details click here.
