For railway background and career links go to:

Sarah Tunaley b. 1837 (Ann's Cousin)

Edward Tunaley b. 1844 (Ann's brother)

Samuel Tunaley

b. 1810, Derby.

m. Patience Page

27, May, 1833.

Samuel d. 1881, Derby.

Residences at the time of marriage:

1. John Walker : Derwent St.,Derby. As John came from the Ripley, Derbyshire area, it is likely this address was temporary for the purpose of the marriage and may indeed have been Thomas Jnr's residence.

2. Ann: Exeter Place (Off Derwent St.) Derby. This was property probably owned by the Tunaley family (see Thomas Tunaley Snr's will re: Exeter Street) - William's residence in 1861 census.

Interestingly, Park Street where Ann was living with John in 1861 (see panel right) is where her cousin Sarah Shaw (daughter of Edward Tunaley) and husband Joe Shaw (railway manager were living, according to the 1861 census.

Hence there is a possible link between the successful career of John and his relationship with Sarah and Joe Shaw Snr.
