1911 census shows that at that time Edward was staying with his son Sydney in Wellingborough.

Edward classified as "Retired Engine Fitter"

Location of Chesterfield at the time of Edward's death might be linked with Leo's father-in-law George Hulse, also having moved to that area.

Of father Samuel's inheritance from Henry (d.1874), Edward appears to have been a principal beneficiary on Samuel's death (as written into Henry's will) and involving properties in Derby.
